Special attention for early diagnosis and monitoring of disease progression has been considered in the development of the project.
Fast and accurate diagnostics (classification and monitoring) leads to better group classification with improved possibilities for individualised treatment. This will increase quality of life and potentially also survival.
Consequently, the development and standardization of novel diagnostic tools in the field of haematological malignancies by the EuroFlow consortium fulfils the requirements for fast, accurate, broadly applicable, and cost-efficient diagnosis and follow-up strategies, which are beneficial for society in health terms.
New developments and breakthroughs in diagnosis, prognostic classification, and follow-up strategies of haematological malignancies will be communicated to national patient organizations and the general public via the leading laboratories in the eight European countries and via the EuroFlow website. Whenever relevant, representatives of the EuroFlow consortium will present lectures for the patient organizations. |
